Mosaic is our group for older friends, who want to meet for a chat and a catch up, and at the same time do a variety of activities.
These activities range from board games, to listening to speakers talk about all sorts of different topics.
Recently we have had an ex-policeman talk about his time as a copper on the beat in Warrington, as well as a talk from a member of Warrington museum who collects all sorts of everyday objects.
For the Easter and Christmas celebrations in the church and harvest festival we make the decorations that make the church look beautiful, and we always make time for a visit to a local garden centre.
It is an incredibly popular group, and there are times when it runs itself. But the main leader is Sue Wilkinson who works incredibly hard to make sure that there is a huge variety in activities.
Mosaic starts at 2pm and runs on every Tuesday apart from school holidays when Sue and her helpers receive a welcome break. Friends are asked to make a small contribution of £1 towards the cost of running the group, and that goes towards all of the different activities. The group is supposed to finish at 3.30, but often the leaders have to ‘subtly’ switch the lights off in order to indicate that it may be time to go home.
If there is a speaker, there is a t-loop system in the hall which we use.
