Table Talk

Table Talk is a monthly gathering which explores questions of life and faith. It takes place on a Monday lunchtime, usually the first in the month, and meets instead of a Sunday service the day before.

Table Talk begins with a shared free lunch, and the discussion carries on from there. We usually have a starter question, such as “Do I matter?” or “If you could ask God a question, what would it be?” and then see where the discussion takes us.   Sometimes we end up with an answer of some sort and other times we end up having talked about something completely different!

Questions we have covered have included:

  • If you could ask God one thing, what would it be?
  • Do you think God speaks to us today?
  • Do I matter?
  • How do you decide what’s right and wrong?
  • Is there a place for faith in modern life?
  • Who is Jesus to you? (or “Who was Jesus?”)

Everyone is welcome - those who already attend form a very diverse group. Some people only come to Table Talk, others also attend Renew with a Brew, and others are church members who worship with us on a Sunday. It sounds quite serious, but it’s actually great fun.

Table Talk is taking a break over the summer, so our next date for Table Talk will be in September. The exact date is to be agreed but will be posted here as soon as it is fixed. More dates running up to Christmas will be added later. We start at 12:30 pm and aim to finish at around 13:30 pm. There is no need to book - just turn up. If you come along with ideas for future discussion questions that would be great!
